Title: #OccupyAmerica
Post by: vaskidmark on October 09, 2013, 06:08:23 AM
It's all the rage.

Or is that all are enraged?

Anyhow, it seems that the executive decision to "make things as difficult as possible" is getting more attention that the supposed reason for cloing  things.

stay safe.

I want the shutdown to go on as long as possible.

I want them to do as many outrageous things as possible.

Every day, and every stupid thing they do, is bringing much hatred against the Dems and the administration.

The sweet cherry on top is the implementation of Obamacare, with the shock and outrage of how idiotic and rediculous the prices and service from the exchanges is.

This is the best thing to happen to America in a LONG DAMN TIME. It's getting people fired up and pissed off and has backfired on the Dems very much so, who are doing everything they can to divert the blame but cannot. Even the more moderate Dems are going WTF at the administration.

And I am SHOCKED that the shutdown has gone on this long. The Republicans must have a bit more spine than we thought, for I honestly didn't expect the shutdown in the first place nor for it to go on for over 24 hours.

Plus its more hatred against the NPS and that agency can go eat a d*** as far as I am concerned, those *expletive deleted*ers didn't pay me in full when I separated.

Without turning this into another thread, this is why I was absolutely fine voting my conscious and voting third party in the last election. In fact there's probably a post or two from me during that time where I said people need to see the full Obama before things change. Status quo merely keeps status quo. I was also saying the Republicans shouldn't even fight Obamacare. Let it hurt. It's the wakeup call far too many people need. All the other "make it hurt" stuff going on right now is only icing on the cake.

The staunchest of progressives will still blame "the Tea Party" for everything, but it appears that many of them, especially those that provide for their own health care, are getting something of a wakeup call.

Looking around my local area, I would agree with you. However, I've also been reading enough "deer in the headlights" accounts of liberals shocked by their new health insurance costs to believe at least a significant amount of them are possibly becoming disillusioned. Certainly those liberals that have employer provided health insurance (like all the gov workers that vote Democrat) will shrug off the "pain" that their brethren feel. But then that's generally the progressive way - to happily push for things that don't affect you. I think many of them will begin to question the ridiculous NPS closures as well.

Of course all the freeloaders of society that benefit from Obama's policies, and the very rich liberals, for whom a million bucks is chump change, that aren't monetarily affected by his policies, will continue to think he's the greatest and that anyone who questions him is evil. Or racist. Or mean.

Well, now I have to rethink my own position. According to this, the Left wants the same thing I do:

Quote
Left wants cliff dive NOW - While moderate Democrats are talking compromise, the president’s liberal base is calling for drastic measures. The New Republic’s Noam Scheiber lays out the liberal position: That Obama should reject the idea of a short-term increase in the debt limit as a gateway to further negotiations. The reason, echoed across the left side of the Internet and on liberal news outlets, is to speed the destruction of the GOP: “The sooner we have the final debt ceiling showdown, the fewer opportunities Boehner has to back himself further into a corner from which he may never emerge,” he wrote. Or, as WaPo’s Ruth Marcus put it: “Better to edge up to, or even leap off, the cliff of default disaster now than to be saddled with it forevermore.”

Boom/Ben, I hope you are right, but I think the American people still care more about who got thrown off the island then they do what goes on in Washington.

Yes, they do. They are hoping that the collapse will bring full on socialism.

Of course, they seriously have no idea what that will mean (Venezuela!) and I wish they could get exactly what they want. Unfortunately, I, and FAR more imporatantly my children, have to suffer with them, so I will fight them tooth and nail.

That is my scary observation as well. Some of the closet socialists are outa the closet.  Big time

I agree with C&SD on this one.  Most folks still get their information, what little they do absorb, from MSM outlets, be they TV, radio or the webz.  The MSM will never stop fully backing the boy king.

Precisely correctomundo.

Howsomever, it looks as if there are fewer things left to close because of the government shutdown before we get to the unwashed masses.  That, plus the pocketbook shock of "free health care for life" and the impossibility of getting signed up for it are also starting to been felt by the 99%.  Seems a few of them are starting to think they may find themselves on the island, too - and without a supporting coalition.

stay safe.
