Title: Families Sue Trump Admin for Being Separated at Border
Post by: Ben on February 11, 2019, 07:30:55 PM
Eight families are suing the Trump Admin for $6 MILLION EACH for being traumatized due to being separated at the border. These people better not get one red cent, or else I want a piece of the action.

Millions of families that immigrated here legally through Ellis Island were "separated" as a matter of course. My dad was separated from my mom and sister because he had a heart murmur and had to be medically evaluated to ensure he wasn't coming to this country and having immediate medical issues at taxpayer expense. If they thought it was serious, they would have turned him right around.

Nobody sued back then, and they were all people who immigrated the legal way, taking years to go through the process. These are all people who entered illegally that are suing. Again, not one red cent. They should be charged for the taxpayer resources they're using up.

My late wife and I married in her native country. We had to wait six months for her visa and green card to come through, and I had to work so we were separated for six months.

Where's my $6 million?

No no you don’t qualify because 1) You are a white guy, aka cancer of the world and 2) anything any other country does is absolutely admirable but if the Great Satan does it then it’s unforgivable m

While I'm doubtful these families deserve any compensation, separating a child from both of their parents is very different than separating two adults from each other, especially for a prolonged period.
I don't think that's a worthwhile comparison.

Then compare it to any other people, including US citizens, who are criminals. US citizens who break the law are separated from their children all the time. Not to mention so many of these "families" are not even families at all. Besides medical evaluations, I'm betting some of these separations are to try and winnow out people traveling with children who aren't theirs.

I believe that has been firmly established.
