I particularly enjoy toast, so that confection looks amazing to me- and this is from someone who is not often interested in dessert.

Skip the ice cream, add fruit and cream, then it would be awesome. Also a nice cup of rich coffee.

The article notes that different restaurants serve it differently, including with fruit and cream.

I think just some cream and cinnamon would be excellent.

I didn't see fruit and cream anywhere in the article, fruit and cream puff, yes, but no chilled lactated cow fat.

Ok, I was using "condensed milk" as a proxy for cream. It's not the same, but is similar.
