Good news for those of us here with sleep apnea.

I know I'm feeling much better in the 3 years I've been using mine.

Agreed.

Recently, I was not sleeping well some nights.  I realized the hose I was using had the inner liner collapsing on the end at the machine.  At some angles, it was nearly choking off the flow.  Once I realized what was happening, I reversed the hose around and then switched to my spare.  I have a new hose coming this week.  Never seen a hose do that before.  Only change lately has been using one of those ozone disinfectant cleaners.

My wife couldn't handle my snoring.  After a few years of sleeping in a different room on an air bed, I went in for a apnea test.  Results:  severe apnea.   =(

Average apnea events per hour:  5.  Mine:  Over 30.  With my CPAP mask:  2 to 5.

It's better to not need it, but if you do need it it makes a huge difference in your sleep, and might literally be a life saver.

When I had my test back in.... 2015? Same night as the Baltimore riots... turned out I was having upwards 60-70 events an hour. Essentially I was breathing about 1/3rd of the time, and suffocating the other 2/3ds.

The new machine I've been using since late last year has an app that tracks usage statistics, including events per hour.

In the last month, however, I've had only 8 days where I've had more than 1 registered apnea event per hour; most days it's in the .3 to .5 per hour range, and one day I had zero apnea events.

Last night was an odd one for me, though... just could not get comfortable with the mask. Turned into a very restless night all around, and I just looked and I averaged air leakage of 46 liters a minute. That's MUCH higher than anything I've had going on; most nights I'm in the 20 liters or less range for leakage.

I slept, but I slept like crap.

The first night in a strange bed is generally a night of little to no sleep.
