Title: Wholesome Guys Should Carry Tampons
Post by: Ben on October 12, 2019, 07:25:09 PM
Wholesome guys should carry tampons to give to any women they meet that might need one.

Best comment: "I bet he gets maced twice a week."

Over the decades, I have certainly bought a ton for the various women in my life but never carried them.  I would say, however, that I keep a few in my trauma and first aid kits after going to the wilderness medicine seminar in which they were recommended to plug some types of bullet holes.  A few military medics/corpsmen of my acquaintance have confirmed this use as a field expedient absent other supplies.

That idea has been thoroughly debunked.  Tampons are terrible at stopping hemorrhage, but do okay absorbing blood.  Carry proper gauze or clotting chemicals.

...

I don't even keep lady supplies on me unless I know I'm going to need them. I usually have some in my car (usually left over extra's from last month), but...

I even work in a place dominated by females and the number of times someone has been "Help, I need something!" is... Well, I think it's happened once.

I mean, this isn't even the kind of thing woman do, having extra's on hand in case someone else needs them, so why would men do it?

And even then, you wouldn't ask a guy. So how would the tampon packing dude know his supplies were even needed?

... I just don't get this.

You're just not sufficiently woke.

Neither am I.

Neither am I.

We shall remain unwoke... And I won't be asking you for tampons.

I've been asked if I had <ahem, koff-koff> "another hygiene-related product" on me, but never a tampon or pad.

(This was, of course, outside of the two periods of marriage in my life.)

If the question came up with a group of women, what would they think if a man nearby spoke up and offered?  Especially if he said he was just carrying them and they weren't for some other woman he knows.

I can sort of see it in some cases, but not a normal thing.

I can only hope the wholesome lad offers them up to a coworker in a normal workplace these days.

If he had a wife or girlfriend and was like "Oh, I think there are some in the car." or something, he could get away with it. Otherwise it would be a major "WTF?!?!" moment. Lot's of nervous giggles, talking in hushed whispers as soon as he was gone and, if it was the brazen one in the group, she'd take him up on it, but still LOTS of judgement.

Maybe if he was one of you guys in style and had it in the emergency med kit along with other surplusy type *expletive deleted*it and said it was first aid, but he'd already be a source of gossip...

The irony here is actually a lot of you guys could sort of get away with it when a "wholesome" guy couldn't...

Am I the only one here who originally though "surplusy" was just a typo for something else?

Are you insinuating that we are only "partsome" guys around here?

I am offended ...
