A move on the foreign policy front that almost missed.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo released a statement later on Thursday afternoon confirming that the U.S. will withdraw from the treaty effective six months from tomorrow.
The White House is blaming Russia for the decision to withdraw from the treaty, saying that Russia has repeatedly violated the terms of the accord. Pompeo said in his statement that the U.S. may consider rejoining the accord if Russia abides by its terms.
Not sure how Russia does things now, but I always assumed the Soviet Union was violating every treaty as long as they could get away with it.
I must have missed this one.
Mr. Trump's decision comes after the U.S. pulled out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty last year, a missile reduction agreement signed by Presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev in 1987. The Trump administration claimed Russia had violated the terms of that treaty, which Moscow denied.
I don't think the US/Russian arms control treaties are really meaningful right now since the Cold War ended decades ago.

Sometimes I can't help thinking this is what happened on Mars.

What? Too many arms control Treaties and then they lost their atmosphere?

I was thinking "barrenness."
Loss of atmosphere an independent process.
Search <loss of atmosphere on mars>.
I was thinking of adding forest fires as a cause of the CO2 atmosphere, but I figured the simple "joke" didn't need any embellishment.
