I have read some books about the Pollard case.  The argument has been made that he received such a severe sentence (compared to other espionage cases) to let the Israelis know that we were unhappy that they were running agents against us, their main source of financial support.

He should have spent the rest of his life behind bars.  Ditto for anyone who commits espionage against the U.S.

His US citizenship should be revoked.

As a matter of fact I think dual citizenship should be outlawed all together.

Just goes to show, blood is thicker than civic nationalism.
