No were not a bunch of dancing idiots but we do have a lot of interesting sites and this video shows quite a bit of them.

Friend of mine owns Spook Cave, so it was neat to see it in there. He also hosts annual Superbowl party in the cave, its a lot of fun.

When Iowa sent their football team to play here, they insisted on natural turf . . .

. . . so their cheerleaders could graze.   grin

I've been up there.

It's called a plateau because it's a bunch of FLAT slightly elevated above the rest of the FLAT.

I have often thought that you could do great things with a road bicycle in Iowa.  As opposed to the constant grinding up hills here in Seattle.

Flat + straight + treeless = HEADWIND

Road cycling is more fun where the roads twist, the elevation changes, and trees are a common occurence.

Ioway is not bad.  Nice country.  I can define nice country because I'm from Michigan and there is nothing much better till you get into the mountains.

Nebrasky on the other hand is flat!!! and so are both Dakoties.  Till you get to the west ends, then they begin to pick up speed..

If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

So why don't they teach drivers ed and sex education in missouri in the same day?  Mule would get too tired

What is the defintion of a virgin in Missouri? A 10 year old that can outrun her brothers.

The area charby is talking about is part of what is called the Driftless Area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driftless_Area

I believe the area around the Wisconson Dells is part of the phenomena also.

While it isn't mountains it is a nice change in topography compared to the limitless vistas of corn and soybean fields we are accustomed to in the Midwest.

Actually only about 20% of Iowa is what I would call truly flat and that is the Des Moines Lobe of the Wisconsin Glacier.

Unfortunately I live near the southern edge of that zone. Pretty dang flat where I live except river valleys, morraine piles or pahas.
