I highly disagree. One more example of a society dishonest to the core. Spare me the tears and trod upon wife look. She should be standing next to him beaming. She owns his ass and she knows it and that is most likely what she is thinking. The only innocent victims, his (ugly) daughters, are about to get a life lesson in how to take a man to the cleaners. Or if she is really shrewd she'll stand by her man a la Hillary who is still collecting on Bill's debt. Spitzy doesn't have a great future though so it is probably splitsville.

In Larry Craig's situation, I think having the wifey stand by him was appropriate.  I think Craig was innocent.  All he really did was tap his toe in a bathroom, which isn't a particularly damning thing to do.  Craig was just some country shrub from Idaho, how would he have known that toe-tapping was some sort of secret code used for gay bathroom sex in Minneapolis?  Did anyone else here know that before the story broke?  Anyway, having his wife attest to his life-long straightness and good character seemed perfectly appropriate.  She's the perfect character reference in that case.

In Spitzer's case, I have no idea why his wife was there.  She was probably too stunned and embarassed and angry to be able to think straight.  Someone guided her into the front of the press room and she went along without thinking.

Hillary?  She knows darn well what she's doing.  If she really wanted to win the nomination, she'd tell Bill to go get caught diddling some 19 year old with big floppy tits.  Then Her Hillaryness could go out in front of all the cameras and do her poor-me-victim thing.  She'd win the remaining states in a landslide.

I think in a case like that you are paying for more than just sexual services.  You are paying for discretion and anonymity.  At least he thought he was.

Well, let's see...

1. Prostitution is illegal.

2. Spitzer allegedly arranged for a pros to be delivered from NY to DC (what, our whores aren't good enough for him?). That is a violation of the Mann Act, which is a Federal beef.

3. Spitzer was allegedly caught on wiretaps arranging for prostitutes. That's conspiracy.

4. Spitzer made several very high profile prostitution cases when he was New York Attorney General. That's hypocrisy.



As for Clinton, had he just been diddling Monica in the Oval Office, that would be one thing.

But, in the course of another matter (Paula Jones' lawsuit, IIRC), Clinton was sworn before a grand jury and then LIED, under oath. That is perjury, and is a felony.



Oh, by the way, even the NY Times is abandoning Spitzer and calling him down with some very harsh language.
