Reactions to French Riots

What is your opinion on the whole situation? I don't think its right that so many are celebrating the destruction and violence in France, just because they haven't supported the latest bit of US foreign policy.

I agree.  It wouldn't be so funny if it was your car that was burned here in the good ol' US of A.

On that note, if they had a legitimate cause to riot, I'd tend to side with the rioters.  Seems some over there are doing now just because they can.

1.  Anybody tries burning MY car gets a dose of "lead thereapy" - maybe those French will see a use for privately owned arms?
2.  Socialism usually comes in violently, and usually exits the same way - one major reason to avoid it.
3.  Anytime you fail to control your borders, and allow in a high-reproducing minority population that refuses to assimilate culturally AND has a historical claim on the land, you are begging for trouble.  What you see in France now is what you will see in L.A. and Pheonix 10-15 years from now.  (Not Texas.  Too many guns - and people willing to use them.)

Just the games Socialists play, especially in Gaulistan where rioting has a long tradition.  Much more fun to riot than to go do your homework.

Natural consequences when you pay the Productive Class not to be productive via a 37.5 hour work week and 12 weeks of vacation and you pay  the Parasitic Class to do nothing.  The downside of sitting around in Cafes and doing nothing is that you create a limit to human freedom; this creates a disincentive for anyone to create anything.
I do not smoke pot, wear Wookie suits, live in my mom's basement, collect unemployment checks or eat Cheetoes, therefore I am not a Ron Paul voter.

I'd disagree, rich. CA and AZ have tons of gun owners, like Texas, and I doubt any number of gun owners will prevent La Raza/Atzlan style riots.

CA and AZ have lots of gun owners,...but L.A. and Pheonix are NOT gun-friendly areas, nor is the local politcal scene friendly, or even tolerant, of defense of property with deadly force.  In Texas, you can shoot a 14 year-old kid stealing your rims and tires at night - and NOBODY can do anything about it.  Remeber the "Rodney King" riots?  Couldn't happen in Texas.  If La Raza/Aztlan style riots break out in Texas, there will be more than enough gunfire to discourage the hijinks.  In Cali and Az, the politicians will be out rioting with them.

huh.  Well, not a gun owner, but whoever lays a hand on my stuff in a riot, at least the 1st person isn't going to be using that hand for anything else any time soon.  Not that I anticipate having to use it.  The sort of people who riot are cowards who lack the guts to stand up on their own, so I doubt they'd have the cahones to do anything to someone who could fight back.

The LA riots only lasted three days. Of the fifty or so people killed, I'd like to know how many were rioters. It may very well have been privately owned guns that put an end to the LA riots.

I hope you are right - surely someone somewhere has a "fatality/cause" list for the LA riots?  If it was privately owned guns, I would have expected the usual "blood in the streets" crowd to trumpet that...
