Dayum.

I just researched Silent Hill.

I'd want more than A-10 Warthogs backing me up...

Just plain creepy, especially the killer nurses:

That was a creepy clip.

i do beleive silent hill is on one fo the shelves behind me.

i do also beleive that if you want me to watch it you will have to tie me down and clip my eyes open a la Clockwork Orange.

as for those ghost town type places, i was watching that show "world without people", and one episode had a couple diffrent ghost town type places. really cool stuff, seeing how they decay over time. creepy though, espeically the mental instatution.

It's not that bad.  Consider the fact that some of folks that are going are a) horror movie fans, b) vets, c) well armed, d) have a proper notion of rate of fire, and e) all of the above...   What is the worst that could happen?

i guess i have to watch Silent Hill if i want to understand all of you guys' paranoia... but still... do you know what a movie is? it's fictional.

i'm pretty sure i'm not going to have face-slashing-zombie-nurses going after me while i'm admiring coalsmoke coming from the ground, although said zombies would be fun target practice.

We really need to make an APS zombie movie.  It'd only be about 10 minutes long, and nearly constant gunfire the whole time.  laugh

the APS pirate hunting movie would last longer. after all we'd have fishing and target practice on the high seas, and a scene fishing Jamis out of the water as he trys to swim after a yatch full of skantily clad super models.

usually i'd say, "of course i know that!", but given that people are placing bets on how long i'd last in centralia/silent hill before the monsters get me, i'm thinking that there's a little bit more going on...  rolleyes

oh, and an APS zombie movie would be fun. it would be loud, short, and everyone would survive in the end, so it probably wouldn't be a great hit in the theaters, but sure fun to make! who wants to play the zombies?

IMO, a ghost town that had "bus tours" at dusk, and had actors who'd shuffle and dart about just at the edges of everyone's vision would be awesome...  grin

I'd say it'd be fun to plant an actor in with the crowd and have him/her kidnapped by the whatever...   But odds are eventually you'd get someone with a CCW.    grin

I get that forty hours a week.  The mall where I work has, um, a high vacancy rate.  To put things mildly.

I've spent hours wandering around in huge, empty, dark basements, and dark, vacant anchor stores (and those suckers are vast), and we even have a ghost-mini-golf course.   laugh  There are spookier details, but I won't post those in public.

Of course, the mall floor and corridors are just about as dark and empty.   rolleyes

The movie doesn't nearly approach anything that happens in the game. Its just not in the same league. To me, the movie was laughable but I can only handle the game in small doses.

I watched the movie a while ago.  Maybe a year or more.  Looking through some of the clips on youtube I was forced to ask "Which movie is this?  Did I inadvertently watch a sequel?  Is this the movie with the woman who crashes the SUV and the female cop?  Wait, there's the female cop right there in the clip. . . I didn't see this part. . . did I?"
I came to the realization that I had actually blocked out of my mind certain parts of the movie.

So I re-watched the whole thing and yes, it is the same movie, yes I had no recall whatsoever of almost half of it from the first time I watched it.  Yes I slept with my back to my wife and my face to the door last night.

Oh, and some kind of siren went off last night in the middle of the night, woke me up and absolutely terrified me. Tinfoil Hat Smiley
