Everyone should have this!

http://www.heatedtoiletseat.com/

Three available voltages so you can adjust it to your current bathroom conditions. And it will run just fine off of a car battery for use in your out house, too!

Genius!

Don't really need the heat feature in Las Vegas, but I DO like the quick release hinge.

I'll pass, too.  This sounds like a solution to a non-problem.

I note with amusement that the company has a cartoon of Rodin's "Le Penseur" sitting on the pot on their truck.  (And why, pray tell, would they need an 18-wheeler to cart toilet seats around?)

I've said for many decades that that was one of Rodin's little jokes  --that the original name for the sculpure was "Le Merdeur."

You're just fine with electric water heaters, people use electric heaters for aquariums all the time...

All they have to do is make sure the resistive elements are well sealed.  Given the size of a toilet seat and that it runs off of 12V, the website specifies 'sealed', at only 12 watts at that.

Well, other than for Tallpine, I'm guessing the rest of ya haven't had to crap in an outhouse at 40 below zero. A warm seat would be nice.................a seat warmed up to 20 above would be okay. But he's right about emerging mountain. Builds up just like a soft ice cream cone and nothing will it knock back other than a long stick and warm weather.  =D

I spent a couple seasons in a primitive deer camp in northern Minnesota and remember one night of -28 F. Our camp cook featured rutabega stew so nobody had to linger long on the loo.
What we have here is failure to communicate.

Isn't 3800' in Alaska about like 13,000' in Colorado  :O

I didn't know the moose would even go that high  =|

Anyway, I forgot to mention that it was winter when we stayed in that cabin.

a bottle of septic treatment(get the liquid if you can) and the hill starts going down and the seat stays warm.
