Upon close inspection and careful caliper measurement, the rubber bands are in  .22 long rifle.  Good for small game and plinking.  Major upgrades need to be made, especially in the tubing to allow for increased recoil and tension stress of the larger caliber bands.  
When engaging management, the presence of thicker skin and skull material dictate modifications to handle the larger caliber bands.
