They absolutely did not need to club the viewer over the head with the message.  They punctuated the message by zooming into the little girl with the dramatic music... why?

I understand the need to make the message comprehensible to the lowest common denominator, but it dilutes it to the point of absurdity.  Just fade to black after the last line of dialog, if you didn't catch it then go back to watching Jersey Shore.

The title reminded me of my kid.

My usual response is, "Yes, but I was talking to you."  ;)

Yes they did.  They're dealing with progressives.

I understand the need to make the message comprehensible to the lowest common denominator, but it dilutes it to the point of absurdity.

But, this is aimed below the lowest common denominator.  It's aimed at Socialist Progressives.  See: The Hepburn Compound dinner scene in The Aviator.

The first movie I took DiCaprio seriously.  That scene is priceless.

"We're all Socialists here."

and

"You don't care about money because you've always had it."

Two great lines.  Both statements of the painfully obvious.

Kind of like dinner with my family but with out the trappings of wealth or the witty repartee.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Wow.  It's almost like Hank Rearden from Atlas Shrugged.  Forgot about that movie.
