That was a hell of a thing.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

A scam?! Who would want to scam me, Bret? And using the internet service - one of the trusted things of today's society?

Don't drive angry. Don't drive angry!
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

If you think you can hurt me again, you're wrong.  I left my heart in my other pants.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Don't drive angry. Don't drive angry!

It's the same thing your whole life: "Clean up your room. Stand up straight. Pick up your feet. Take it like a man. Be nice to your sister. Don't mix beer and wine, ever." Oh yeah: "Don't drive on the railroad track."
Well, Phil, that's one I happen to agree with.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl. We ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters.

*That* was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get *that* day over, and over, and over...

I do not like the term "crash", it is negative. I prefer the term "catastrophic failure".

What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?
That about sums it up for me.

Some men are Baptists, others Catholics; my father was an Oldsmobile man.

My wife was ENORMOUSLY entertained by the fact that I'd been quoting that line for *YEARS* before I ever saw Casablanca. I had no idea whatsoever where it came from until probably 3-4 years after I met her, and we sat down and watched it together.
