  • I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

No, I think that the question is, why do you hate America so much that you look for any excuse to move towards mob rule.

Based on the information presented, NAU's only offense was that they attempted to enforce a policy.  There may be some discussion about the manner in which the Dean explained the allowable restriction on when and where one may exercise one's right to "free" speech.

Now, had you commented that NAU was acting like as azzhat when there was no indication that the activity was i fact impeding the flow of foot traffic within the SU building I might support your contention.  Had you focused on the unnamed employee who suggsted that the students involved move back outside into the rain was something of a jerk I would have agreed with you.

But to assert that NAU "hates America" because of how they handled the incident suggests nothing but an attempt at rabble rousing just to see how much tsuris you can stir up.

I leave you with these words: "Go home before I call your mother and tell her what you are doing."

"so I ended up getting the above because I didn't want to make a whole production of sticking something between my knees and cranking. To me, the cranking on mine is pretty effortless, at least on the coarse setting. Maybe if someone has arthritis or something, it would be more difficult for them." - Ben

Statistically speaking, from past experience with university administration, the assumption that NAZU admin hates America is sound.

I have also seen the double standard university admins show toward NAM and other lefty groups relative to centrist or righty groups.  The behavior described in the article, had they been handing out Pali flags would have resulted in no such enforcement.

I don't doubt that the leftist/socialist administration and faculty of just about any institution of higher learning hates America.

I just don't see how the way the administration responded to this situation - as reported - can be held as evidence of hating America.

Rather, I see it as radical-lefitis-universities bashing.

Convince me, based on this incident at this university, otherwise. [popcorn]

'Summoned to the Dean of Students Office for a talk but not as disciplinary action.'
When that happened to me I received a talk about how it would be best for everyone if I left the school with all sorts of ominously vague implications if I didn't.

But yes... two students in the side of an open space with a tv tray seems less traffic restricting than 4 university officials and a security guard.
My law school financed the young democrats but found the notion of young repubs being permitted on campus absurd.

They treat passing out flags on 911 as if its some kind of incitement to lynch, I bet if they were humming God Bless America they would have called out SWAT.

I have lived among radlibs for years, they honestly believe it is hate mongering to pass out flags on July 4th or 9/11 ... Hate is a crime unless you hate what they hate.
