Everything in Illinois and Indiana is 10%E.  I think the only place you can get sans ethanol go-juice is at a marina or the like.

87 with 10% ethanol is the gasoline I have been giving a price for. 87 sans the ethanol is about .30 more per gallon.

We used to have 87 sans E, 89 with 10% E and 90-92 with or without E. A few years ago, they said the 89 10E was too expensive to mix 87 + 10% E, so they went to 85 base and added 10% to bring it up to 87. 89, 90 and 92 octane went away, now we have 91 and it varies from station to station is it is pure gas or 10% E.

In CA we have 87 (up to 10% ethanol),89,91 (or maybe 92?). Don't know if we have any other octanes in BFE locations. Those are what I normally see off the highways, etc.  I know there are E85 stations around, but I don't think that many. I remember back at work the enviros always wanted to use E85 but there were never any stations near the office.

In Idaho a lot of pumps have four gasoline grades: 85,87,89,91 (or maybe 92, I can never remember the top in these parts).

I used to use 85 in the Trooper when on road trips and it ran fine. I haven't tried it in the 4Runner, and the new truck with the turbos has an 87 minimum.

But back to my original point, depending on the octane and composition of the regional "regular", I reckon that's going to affect a lot of our comparisons here.

Odd... at the Citgo station near my house the price went from $2.03 to $2.09 on Monday...

As I was passing by this morning, I noticed that the price was back to.... $2.03.

And yes, 87 octane.

I don't think that they sell 85 in Virginia or most of the East Coast. Maybe in the agricultural regions...

Here in Tulsa it is 87, 89, and 91.

Use 87 in everything but the bike which gets 91.  The bike will run ok on 87 but I get better mileage using 91.

85 octane is usually found at higher elevations, I only see it in the Rocky Mountain West.

Price here in Tulsa jumped from $1.99 to $2.09-$2.12 overnight.

Guy at work used a rewards card and paid 63 cents a gallon yesterday, 20 gallon limit.

Been rising here in Northern Virginia.

The stations near Castle Key's house are all in the $2.12 to $2.19 range.

The Citgo near my house was $2.03 (weekend price) and $2.09 weekday price for the last few days.

The Sunoco around the corner from it is a few cents higher.

I used grocery store rewards points at a Shell on Saturday to bring the price down to $1.999.

The price of regular at the cheapest station I frequent was $2.359 a gallon last Friday morning. When I went there after work Friday night, it had jumped to $2.459.

There is some really weird stuff going on with gasoline prices here in Northern Virginia.

The station near me is currently sitting at $2.14. It's been bouncing around like mad the past few weeks, but has been trending upward.

The one station near CastleKey where I'll get gas was at $2.15 a week ago, and is now at $2.03.

Oil prices have been bouncing around lately -- they shot up last week when Saudi Arabia and Russia started getting all huggy and kissy and started talking about production limits...

Of course the monkey brained aholes who trade crude started pissing their pants that "OMG! OIL'S GOING TO GO UP AND UP AND UP AND NEVER COME BACK DOWN AGAIN!!!" and drove the price up accordingly.

Then reality set in, nothing came out of the OPEC meetings or the Borscht-Sand Dune confederation, and prices have been pulling back.

But that was offset by some dork in Nebraska accidentally spilling a quart of oil in his driveway.

That seems to be a hell of a lot closer to the truth than not these days!

I wonder how oil prices are going to be affected by the guy who blew his engine and coated my Subaru with a fine oily mist this morning?

Price on the local Citgo station near my house dropped from $2.14 to $2.05.

Prices in Arlington are scraping $2 again.

I saw a pic on FB of all the protestors.  Looked like there was at least 40 acres of 'em.   My first thought was " A couple JDAM's or several rounds of DPICM would sure solve a lot of this country's problems..."

Meanwhile I paid $2.09 because I needed a car wash anyway and that "saved" me $.20/gallon
