He/It managed to post 4 messages in rapid succession before being hit with the banschwerk.  3 of those messages have been memory-holed.  I left this one there since it's a non sequitur in this thread (about the only thread on APS without thread drift), plus a chance to tweak Jamis a bit.

Prices appear to be dropping a bit in my neck of the woods.

Hopefully we'll see much of the recent rise fade away by October.

We were pretty steady here in W. Michigan in the mid $2.40's till the storm in Texas.  Jumped to $2.79  a couple days after.

The station near my office that topped out at $2.98 is down to $2.89.

I've seen a smaller drop at stations in Arlington, VA.

The Citgo near my house is holding at $2.61, but I'm thinking that's going to drop a bit the next time they have fuel delivered, which judging by the patterns should be either this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Prices here are in the $2.60's.  The BP I pass when I'm out and about was at $2.67 this morning down from $2.79 last week.

A couple of stations have dropped a penny around here.  Otherwise, prices are stable in the mid-$2.60s, no real change over the last week.

Well, I was right. The Citgo dropped last evening... a whole 2 cents.

2.49. It's kind of funny as most stations were 2.49 +/- a few cents with a few outlayers upwards of 2.69.

Before Irma the gov mentioned reporting price gouging, iirc anyone over 4 bucks a gallon. Almost instantly and EVERY station seemed to settle on exactly 2.49. Even in the different sections of town where you tend to get a cluster of this price or that price.

Most stations are still in the $2.60's.  (there was one still at $2.79  ;/)  Pilot up on North Avenue was $2.53, which became $2.50 after my $.03/gal discount.

My AAA MasterCard gets me a 5% discount on gas.  Not restricted to any particular brand.  That adds up when we are going back and forth from Michigan and Florida.

Went past my second choice station on the way to work this morning: $2.68

Went past my usual first choice station on the way home from work this afternoon: $2.69

Both trending down since the first of this month. I hope the trend continues.

Gas prices are dropping here.  It's $2.24 at Costco, just dropped to $2.29 at a station a few blocks from Costco, and $2.39 and $2.44 everywhere else.

Starting to edge down here finally.  The local Speedway that I often use dropped four cents to $2.61.  There's a new Love's at the exit to NC10 from US321 where I get off for work.  They've dropped 20 cents to $2.49 in the last few days.  I may start buying gas there on the way to work.

The stations in Arlington near Castle Key have finally started to drop. They were edging into the $2.70s, but are now $2.59 to $2.63 as of Friday.

The Citgo near me is also very slowly dropping... It's at the 6 cents off weekend price of $2.51 (it will go up to $2.57 after the weekend) but I'm hoping it should drop again tomorrow.

Normally the Exxon and Valerjo are ~$0.05 more than Brookshire's (supermarket) and Murphy.  The last week or so all 4 have been at the same price for the cheap 10% stuff - $2.43, which is down from the high around $2.49.

I finished fueling up at Citgo this morning at $2.57.

As I was getting ready to pull out, the supply tanker was pulling in. We'll see if it also brought a price drop.

While out and about over night I saw a low of $2.25 and a high of $2.39, Northeast of Tulsa.

For 87 over the last couple of days, $3.10 in Galt, CA; $2.87 in Winnemucca, NV; $2.87 in Caldwell, ID. The Caldwell station also had ethanol free for $3.02.

If I see ethanol free on my next fillup, I might try it to see if I can notice any difference.

According to GasBuddy, this morning's delivery at the Citgo brought with it a 6 cent a gallon price drop on 87 octane.
