We peaked at around $2.85 at a small number of stations in the Hickory area, though $2.69 was more the norm.  Now we're around $2.29 most places that we buy.

Also, at least if the news is to be believed, refineries in the Rockies always shutting down for one thing or another create spikes.

I was referring to outside of blend switches. The week of the switch to Summer blend, we went from $2.70 to $3.00, then slowly up from there.

I just filled up at Costco a half hour ago for 2.499 a gallon.  I don't remember exactly what it was, but about $2.65 last week.

2.499 in town, probably 2.30 something out on the interstate. We're weird because the filling stations on the interstate have a constant gas war with each other. Town is 7 miles from I-35, so no gas war here.

Probably maintenance.  The WSJ has been reporting that the stocks of crude and especially distillates here in the US have been climbing for the past several weeks, putting pressure on storage capacity (and prices).  If they have full tanks, they can shut down until stocks deplete, and they can get some maintenance in.

I paid $2.70 at the Pilot in Carol Stream on Monday.

Crude and gasoline futures are getting pummeled this morning. Apparently the markets are gearing up for a big jump in the US stockpile figures.

We've been bouncing around between $2.95 and $2.70 for several weeks.  The nearby gas station I go to, has been price cutting everybody by at least 30-40 cents a gallon.  It was $2.77 at 3 places I drove by today and $2.48 at my station.  The other day he was $2.54 and everyone else was $2.95.

This morning I hit it just right and got into an empty bay before 3 other guys could.  Filled up the truck and 3 gas cans for the mower.  Usually every time I drive by the 4 bays are full with at least 3 vehicles waiting behind in each bay.  I am a bit puzzled by that tactic and the owner of the station has been doing that for over a month now.  Maybe he's laundering drug money and can afford to take a big loss on gas...or the other guys are gouging.

Well, so much for yesterday's drop.

Apparently overnight two tankers were damaged in what is being called attacks, and oil and gasoline futures have recovered everything they lost yesterday.

Anyone want to take a bet on who did it? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

I paid $3.25 for super last night leaving the golf course, roughly 25 cents less than when I filled up there three days ago. Apparently that station owner doesn't watch the news...

Yeah, everytime I drive to Ontario, OR, I see it's about $0.25 more per gallon as soon as you cross the border. Though with OR, I'm not sure how much of that is enviro taxes and how much is paying for someone to pump your gas.

So I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm sure I saw that price difference over the last month at least, but going there yesterday it was only three cents higher than here.

$2.119 at WalMart's Murphy Oil yesterday. Had a discount on top of that for using their "Murphy Drive" app!

Last Thursday I paid 2.479 a gallon at a station near Mtnbkr's place. It's still $2.699 at the Citgo near my house.

I was pleasantly surprised, $2.16 where I usually fill up.

Dropped a bit more to $2.19 at our go-to stations in Hickory right now.

Only a very slight drop here in the last week. $2.99 at Costco this morning. On the bright side, it's the first time we've been below $3 since mid-May.
