Switching SIM card to new phone
« on: December 25, 2016, 01:23:20 PM »
I have a new ZTE Axon 7 inbound to replace my Nexus 5.  The Nexus is running Cricket, a MVNO of AT&T.  Theoretically, all I have to do is remove the SIM card from the Nexus and slot it into the ZTE, and my service will seamlessly transfer over, correct?  I would think that if I am reusing the old SIM, I don't have to go through the activation process again.

In theory yes.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Yes.  I've done this several times.  You'll need to install your apps and config settings, but the service itself will transfer seamlessly.

I have a cheap flip phone I swap my SIM into when I want a smaller or cheaper phone for certain uses (mountain biking, boating, etc).
