It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Where I live, it is very common for employers to forbid employees from weapons possession or carrying in the workplace.  My own employer forbids it, and I was on the approval panel for the written policy.

You know, sometimes my employment does have its advantages...like nobody panicking when I get a UPS package and flick out a knife to open it...then pull out a kukri and a short sword.

I mean, it's not like the boss can say anything about it when he's responsible for the bullet hole in the front window...and nobody's confessed to the one in the roof yet.

So I see the policy does not disarm police.

From the story it seems to be a "rule" and not a law . . . so it would seem while job loss may result, criminal prosecution won't.

And in the case of the "civilian volunteers" - I suspect the "rule" can largely be ignored with little real consequence. ("Go do your unpaid volunteer work somewhere else.")
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

County where I worked tried soething like this, but way more broad.  They included in prohibited places any vehicle used to conduct job duties, including personally owned vehicles regardless of where parked.  (So your own car at your house.)  Also, the exception was written to only include deputy sheriffs in uniform on duty, which tossed out detectives, probation officers, bailiffs, and investigators for the prosecutor.  By the time they got done listening to all of the complaints, it was simply dropped in embarassment.

You never get a "yes" unless you ask first.

Works for girls, too.
