His song, "You Know My Name" is my favorite of the recent Bond themes...  Another talented artist gone.

It's the best of the Bond themes.

Was never a big Soundgarden fan and could've had free tickets to their concert here in KC this past weekend.  Turned them down because I've just been too busy getting ready for this last minute deployment.  Now I wish I had gone.

Heroin OD or the cumulative result of addiction?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

He was supposedly clean, but doesn't mean he didn't fall off the wagon.

I don't know anything about his personal life, and I disagreed with his politics. But he was one few artists I was actually a fan of.

My brother had tickets in Houston.  We were going to go see Soundgarden next Thursday.  Sad to hear.

This is kind of odd for me. I didn't know anything about Chris Cornell until yesterday, when somebody told me he was excited about seeing Soundgarden this weekend. He said he'd been a fan of Cornell for years, and had never seen him live.

This just in.  Chris Cornell did NOT have any information whatsoever on Hillary Clinton.

and I'm officially a horrible horrible person making bad jokes WAYYYY too soon. Should not have decided to have a Soundgarden night.

I guess it was a bit too soon.  I actually heard that on the radio this morning so I am not alone.

My brother and I saw them in Houston about 1992 when they toured with Pearljam.  We saw them again in 1996 before they broke up.  I was looking forward to seeing them next week.  It is sad to hear about these people killing themselves in such ways, but I am not going to get sad myself over it.  I saw Nirvana in Houston a couple months before Cobain committed suicide.  I was happy I had the chance to see them.

I've had a shitty week and the weekend isn't looking promising, so I'm going for humor where ever I can find it, even if it is sick, twisted and dark.

Chris Cornell *is* one of the more crappy rock and roll deaths, IMHO. He was still producing music, he's always been prolific and it's almost always good (unlike the solo career's of some of the other grunge rock guys *cough cough* Eddie Vedder *cough cough*)

I only have the one album, Superunknown. It's hard to acquire a good CD collection when you're a po' kid. These days, it's so easy to get it online that I've put getting CDs on the back burner.
Soundgarden is one of those bands, though, it's not really one I think of first, when it comes to naming bands I really like, but when I really think about it I have a hard time thinking of a song I *don't* like.

"so I ended up getting the above because I didn't want to make a whole production of sticking something between my knees and cranking.
