Wow...

The green bar of loading in this thread...

The red light of blinking in the thermostat thread...

The colors are against us!

Jamis will fire up his SysAdmin skills tomorrow and get all over this....

This statement conjures an unsettling mental image for some reason.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

You want unsettling?

Jamis just described, in great detail, his last office piss test to me.

THAT'S unsettling...

So is the random disappearance of avatars. These days, for example, I see avatars in this thread for Ben, 230RN, P12 and HeroHog ... but RevDisk, Mike Irwin and Dogmush are avatar-less. And my avatar doesn't show up.

Mine lives on my server and isn't hosted by some service and that is probably the difference.

I am very disappointed that some of you are so eager to blame the victim for these cyber-attacks. I mean, really? "What software was she running?" These kinds of questions are not acceptable. Sad!

Huh, I don't see my own avatar today!

Apparently, it was deleted from my profile so I reset it.  :old:

The server was using slutty software and was asking for it.

Have ya tried rebooting the server? How about a little "percussive maintenance?"

Holy crap, Herohog!

I've been looking for that for YEARS!

I first saw it back around 2005. I e-mailed it to some coworkers and it really touched a nerve because we were rolling out a new website for our division and it was about as frustrating as anything ever could have been!

Saved that one to my desktop! It's my precious!

Yer welcome Mike. I have a library of crap I find funny, snarky, useful that I have built over the years. Seeing as I have been on the internet since the early 80's, that encompasses a lot of crap!

I tried uploading it to Faceplace.

It told me that I couldn't because it wasn't 120 pixels tall.

So, I had to put it into an online .gif editor. When I did that and saved it as a slightly larger format, it ceased to function.

So, I had to run it through the editor again, enlarge it, and save it as an MP4.

Then I could upload it to Faceplace.

I already solved the problem.

And the resolution on that one got... weird. It looks like it's printed on high-quality laid texture paper, the kind you'd put wedding invitations on.

Browsing therein, I snorted snot at a lot of them.  Dickwheel was especially damaging.  I love it when I don't get stuff right away and have to look at it awhile before it "clicks."
