Roy Moore... Wow, but in a way I can get behind...
« on: December 12, 2017, 01:33:06 PM »
Was just reading CNN's "Where the Candidates Stand," article on the Alabama special election.

Of course, I scrolled right down to Gun Rights...

From Doug "Communist" Jones

"Jones described himself in September as “a Second Amendment guy” but said there are “limitations” and called for expanded background checks in an interview with MSNBC."

From Roy "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" Moore

At a September rally, Moore declared, “I believe in the Second Amendment” — and then pulled out a gun.

That tells me all I need to know!

He apparently also showed up to vote today on horseback. Whatever you think of Moore or his theatrics, the fact that lefty heads are exploding en masse is kinda worthwhile.

Was the gun thing maybe earlier this year or last year?  Seems like I remember seeing a clip of that, but my memory is hazy.

Just a couple months ago.

As for horses,  Moore traditionally rides his horse to the poll on voting day.

I heard on the radio today (and verified) that the statute of limitations on sexual assault down there is null:

Code Sections
Alabama Code Title 15: Criminal Procedure,
Chapter 3: Limitations on Prosecution
Felonies    There’s no limit to when some felonies can be tried, including:
Any capital offense (various types of murder)
Felonies with the use, attempted use, or threat of violence
Felonies where serious physical injury or death resulted
Any sex offense involving a victim under 16 years old
No statute of limitations: rape, violent sexual abuse, sexual abuse with the threat of violence

    Arson
    Forgery
    Counterfeiting
    Drug trafficking crimes

If such is the case, why is it that none of the so-called victims" had Moore arrested?

1% of the vote in (likely major metro areas) and Jones has a considerable lead.

Expect that to change a lot as the rural areas come in.

Because their stories are weak and there's little or no supporting evidence.  Some of them still might be true, but not provable.

OTOH, Moore has not sued them for slander, nor the sued the Washington Post for libel.

I kinda think there's something there, but not much, and neither side wants any close scrutiny.

3% in now, and Jones is still ahead but Moore is closing the gap.

ETA: and now Moore is ahead.

CNN is still showing Jones ahead, but by a scant 3 points....

Nope, just updated and Moore is ahead 1 point.

I don't like Moore. I don't believe him on his denials about the allegations against him, and I don't like him digging in his heels against the US Supreme Court (which is what lost him his job on the state SC).

But I'd rather have him in the Senate than a Democrat.

I'm watching a chart on ngr.org that updates every 10 seconds (whether there's been any change or not) and it's saying 64% in, and Moore is ahead by 50000 votes.  53% to 45.5%.

I wonder if this is really a mandate on "*expletive deleted*ck you, this is our election"

At what point does the MSN admit defeat in this race?

I haven't been paying much attention tonight.  I've been reading and surfing the net a bit and I was just going to check in around 11PM and see what happened.  The fact that there hasn't been a breathless blow by blow on the networks tended to tell me Moore was ahead though.  Swmbo has CBS on for NCIS, Bull, and NCIS NOLA and nothing.  Not even a scroll at the bottom other than the one warning about the lake effect snowpocalypse we yawn about on a daily basis for 3 months here in Michigan.

The Secretary of State is a Republican, so I don't think we'll have a repeat of the Franken election with endless recounts until they get it right.

If the margin exceeds the number of absentee ballots once all the precincts are in, they'll pretty much have to admit defeat.  But probably not until then.  And we'll never hear the end of it about how stupid and racist and homophobic Alabamans are.

I wonder if this is really a mandate on "*expletive deleted*ck you, this is our election"

I think I'm going with the latter, with the only revision being a "*expletive deleted*ck you" in general to the same people who think the entire country is made up of big cities on the coasts.

People are sick to death of being called racists, bigots, nazis, sex offenders, and every other SJW tagline. Good people who want nothing more than to get on with their lives and be left alone are sick of being told everything they do and believe is wrong. People are at the point where they will happily vote for a schmuck just to stick it to the busybodies that insist on telling them what to do and how to think. Go Browncoats.

UMMMMM, not quite.  Had not the WAPO created the sex claims, Moore would have won this in a laugher.   Now watch as the allegations are either retracted or disproven...

So it would seem that senate RINOs (swamp creatures?) accomplished their objective.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.
