Google removes View Image option
« on: February 16, 2018, 08:42:26 PM »
Some of you may have found out to your horror that it was gone. Apparently removing it was a part of some contract agreement with Getty Images in order to get results from their site.

Aaaaand now there is a Chrome extension for that. https://9to5google.com/2018/02/16/google-view-image-button-chrome-extension/ Was worried there for a sec. Probably extensions for other browsers too.

That's a bummer.

I'll frequently use that when I need a larger resolution image of something I've searched for, like a chart or table.  (for example, HVAC PT charts)

I just right-click and use the "Open image in new tab" option. Added bonus is that it opens the image only, not as an embedded object.

Right click image, select "inspect", click URL shown in the pages code.

Or, you know, just click through to the original page hosting the image.

With some pages that can be a chore, if even possible.
