http://www.armedpolitesociety.com/index.php?topic=47539.0  Hearing loss data for 2015

The anti-gunners are going for broke, figuratively banning every semi-auto firearm and any magazine with no grandfathering for the magazines that hold more than seven rounds with mandatory yearly home inspections for any remaining gun owners. They are also pushing universal background checks, GVPO, (Gun Violence Protection Orders) and other restrictions and bans. Republicans control the House and Senate

We are having a hearing on these bills this Thursday, March 1st at 10:15 am at the state Capitol. If anyone can attend please try to be there by 8:00 am to make sure you can get a seat. Also please email and call your representatives.

www.facebook.com/events/2090740554489741

Because of abuse of the House rules by anti-gun DFL Representative Dave Pinto, a hearing has been forced in the House Public Safety Committee for two gun control bills THIS THURSDAY beginning at 10:15am.

The hearing will cover:

* HF 1605: Gun Violence Restraining Orders
* HF 1669: Universal Background Checks

We anticipate that the hearing will last approximately 90 minutes.

We're anticipating approximately 30 minutes total to be spent on each bill. Committees usually take public testimony.

WE NEED YOU AT THE HEARING:
* Arrive early (by 8:00am if not earlier)
* Park in an available lot nearby - ample parking is available within 2-3 blocks.
* The hearing is being held in the State Office Building at 100 Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Room 10 (basement). Hearing moving to state Capitol room 120.
* Lawful carry is allowed with a Minnesota Permit to Carry - no other notification is required. Please carry concealed.
* If you can attend the hearing, please RSVP here so that we can keep you apprised of other events before or after the hearing.

JOIN THE CAUCUS AT http://gunowners.mn/join
DONATE at http://gunowners.mn/donate

---

Update: Hearing moving to state Capitol room 120. The Caucus has reserved a staging area in rooms G20A from 8am - 9am and 400 North in the SOB from 9am - 12pm.

They won't even give it a hearing. There is no risk of anything negative passing this year.

Today is the big day, hundreds of people are here. I think we have the opposition outnumbered a few times over. I will be live blogging from the www.facebook.com/pg/gunownersmn.

The hearing starts in a half hour, 10:15am.

Easy-peasy.  Just switch your party affiliation...  Heck, you could probably establish several (hundred) residencies...

Both bills defeated, everything went well. We seriously won the debate. Currently sitting next to Oleg Volk at the nearby gopher bar celebrating.

that photo of the moms demanding fascism really made me chuckle.
having to come up with a reasonable rebuttal rather that the typical echo chamber of insults they're
used to must have been disconcerting.

Several more bills were introduced and died on the vine. Some would have banned basically everything.

Republicans signaled a willingness to cave on bumpstocks but between Rob Doar's (political director of the Gun Owners Caucus) great lobbying work, great support from pro-gun people, a lack of time, and the anti-gun people not being able to behave themselves in the hearing rooms that was defeated. minnlawyer.com/2018/03/27/protest-inadvertently-silences-gun-bill

The MN Gun Owners Caucus is hosting a big rally on April 28th at the Capitol steps. The media, some good speakers, and several politicians will be there. About a thousand people have signed up to go on Facebook, with another four thousand saying they are interested. The event is also being pushed by GOCRA, the NRA, and state GOP.

this is the seed of their own destruction, reliance on lies and insults eventually destroys them.
"guns are bad" is not a logical argument.
It can't win in the court of reason and discourse.

Good for MN.  Not looking so good right now in IL.

Yep, the legislature already passed a dealer licencing bill (which is designed to shut down every FFL in the state).  Now we're trying to muster enough "No" votes to prevent an override of the Governor's veto.
