Take a peek here

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=123113&goto=newpost

We had a great selection come out of that.

I forget what I use now but the most popular ones probably.

There's also greasemonkey, which is RIP on steroids (or, more accurately, RIP was designed as a user-friendly version of greasemonkey)

Sorry GoRon - brain fart - shoulda thought of that!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is the first post on that from BryanP - if it shows OK
In addition to the tabbed browsing, the customizable themes, the popup blocking etc.. the best thing about Firefox (and Mozilla) are the 3rd party extensions available. Here are the ones I'm currently running. What are your favorites and why?
Adblock
http://adblock.mozdev.org/
Just what it sounds like. Use is quite simple. I'm using it to block banners from various sites as well as that stupid "Intellitext" garbage that is littering so many web sites these days. You can easily block individual elements; or if you prefer you can configure it more generally. It defines "easy to use but highly configurable."
Flashblock
http://flashblock.mozdev.org/
Any flash content is replaced by a frame the size of the flash object and a graphical "F" lofo. If you want to see the flash just click the F. Handy now that a lot of sites are using flash for their ads. Very handy for a poor dialup user.
ForecastFox
http://forecastfox.mozdev.org/
Give it your zip code, tell it how many days you want to see (or just the current time & day). It pulls data from weather.com and puts little icons and labels in the status bar at the bottom of the browser. I've got mine set to show the current conditions, plus the predicted conditions for today and tomorrow. Double click it and it goes to weather.com's 10-day forecast for your area.
Image Zoom
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/e...info.php?id=139
A simple little extension. I've set it so that if I right-click on an image and move the scroll wheel it will zoom or shrink the image.
Session Saver
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/sessionsaver
My favorite extension yet. If you just install it you can ignore it. By default if your browser crashes, your system freezes, you accidentally close the browser, whatever, when you start Firefox again it will re-open any tabs exactly to where you were, complete with browser history. You can also save individual browser sessions and reload them later.
User Agent Switcher
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/mor...eragentswitcher
Allows me to define User Agent strings for other browsers and lie to a web site about what browser I'm using. Handy since my bank only supports IE and Netscape for online billpay, even though they support the versions of Netscape based on Firefox code. I just select Netscape 7.1 as my user agent and I'm in.
I've recently grown very fond of the Paste Quote extension.  Highlight text in a forum, Ctrl+C just like normal, then when you go to paste the text you wish to quote into the body of the message, simply right click and select "Paste Quote" and it will paste the text into the body with the Quote tags already included.  Very handy!
I have to second Session Saver as THE best extention I have used todate.
How many times have you accidently closed out your window or firefox crashes (usually from 3rd party plugins)
when you had several tabs open to sites you may or may not remember how to get back to.
Or if I'm researching a particular topic and need to leave I don't want to take time to save all the open tabs as bookmarks.
Very handy....
However one that I had prior to the 2.0 release would allow you to middle click the blank tab area to bring back the most recently closed tab...  so if you accidently middleclick and close a tab that you didn't mean to, you could just bring it right back. I have yet to see an extension that offers this capability again.
Thanks Chris, I didn't want to have to type that again.  Smiley
FYI, for those who want to use adblock I highly recommend checking this out:
http://www.geocities.com/pierceive/adblock/
Click on the instructions link near the top.  It's a constantly updated set of rules ready for importing into adblock.  They work extremely well.
One of the plugins I mentioned seems to be delaying the creation of new firefox windows by about 12 seconds.  New tabs (ctrl-click) open instantly.
It's not on account of any network traffic, either.  There are no web (or other network) requests being sent immediately, then timing out after 12 seconds.
I think it's Remove it Permanently.  I've replaced it permanently with greasemonkey, and new windows now open within a few seconds.
Argh!
Justin,
         Can you provide a link for paste quote?  I did a search and found what I think you are using.  It wouldn't let me download it without my giving permission.  It said it was "usigned " and gave the standard warning about knowing what you are downloading.
I hesitated because none of my other extensions required this step.
I use Forecastfox weather extension and dictionary search.  I also have flashgot and the bandwidth tester.
Paste Quote
http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/pastequote
Show failed URL - leaves the url unmangled in the address bar when you get a page not found error
http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/#sfu
Formfox - hovering over a form's submit button shows you where the form will be submitted to
https://do-not-add.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=499
FLST - Focuses Last Selected Tab, rather than the one on the far right... useful for when you open a new tab and then close it
http://gorgias.de/mfe/
I don't use Paste Quote, but the others I just installed.  They're useful and they're quite unobtrusive, so there's no real reason to remove them.
Firefox Web Browser Under Attack
Major security flaws just uncovered in the popular Firefox
browser have its creators rushing to fill the gaps. The
vulnerabilities are called "extremely critical" and were
leaked to the Web a few days ago. Ouch. For detail on what
the problem entails, and where to find the patches, check
out our story. Firefox may be good, but it's not perfect!
I bet the above info is why I got warnings I hadn't seen before.  I keep my software updated and I bet the extra step before allowing a program to be downloaded was part of the latest update/patch.
Just found this one recently...
FxIF Extension
http://ted.mielczarek.org/code/mozilla/fxif/
It allows you to right click an image on a web page and get the EXIF data for it, if available.  I really love this one; saves me from having downloading so many photos just to get the EXIF info for them.
