Stormy Daniels was arrested in Columbus.

Her lawyers says it is all political. That makes me laugh. Columbus is a seriously D city. Governor Kasich is no fan of President Trump. I wonder who he thinks arranged this arrest...

My favorite part of the story is that she allegedly improperly touched three undercover vice detectives, and a fourth standing at the bar called for uniformed officers to assist with the arrest. Four vice detectives at the club. Last I prosecuted with Columbus PD, I had trouble getting one vice detective to come to Grand Jury, and yet four were "working" in a strip club when Daniels was appearing...

An exception written into law? Makes sense in an odd way since these days no one is allowed use their own judgement in applying a law.

I think Houston has a similar law targeting lap dancing.

Semi-nude means less than fully nude but more than fully clothed. Close to, but different than, semi-clothed.

I think they would have been dropped, as long as it was a guest performer and not a regular. That law is pretty quirky.

I would try to explain the law, but I just can't. It makes no sense to me, either. But, let me throw this tidbit in the mix...up until around 10 years ago, it was legal (and even permitted by Columbus Police Department policy) for an officer to engage in sex acts with a prostitute, and then use that sex act as evidence against the prostitute.

Strip club shenanigans are a weakspot for many vice depts. When I was in Houston, a friend of mine who is Pasadena PD told me some interesting stories about the *expletive deleted*it that the HPD vice were doing in strip clubs and massage parlors to bust them...
I'm shocked there were only 4 of them and that nobody got a the full VIP treatment before the bust.

As much fun as it is to laugh at this (and it is), why is it illegal for a stripper to hit a patron in the face with her breasts? It would be hard to argue non-consent when they had to walk up to the stage for their motorboating opportunity.

I confess I don't actually have a whole lot of experience in strip clubs, and non at all in the last 15 or so years, but when I went as a young soldier what was described was kind of the point of going.

I'm guessing because of old morality laws. Stripping leads to touching leads to fondling leads to prostitutions leads to damnation and hell for everyone.

In my non-expert opinion, I would imagine it has something to do with stripping/dancing being legal, while prostitution is illegal. The case could be made that physical contact crosses the line between the two.

And FWIW, I think prostitution should be just as legal as amateur, volunteer immorality.

I was just surprised, because I thought that that level of touching was kinda universal in strip clubs. Guess not.
