They didn't throw out the ban.  There is an injunction against enforcement of the ban and the 9th allowed the injunction to remain in effect while the ban is appealed.

The foxnews.com headline is also wrong.  The ban isn't on ammo.

I thought only revolver magazines were ammo , but its only the explosive flammable ones that are il eagle.

This presumably will be promptly overturned by the rest of the 9th, exactly like every single other ruling that respects the Second Amendment (member the "shall issue CCW" ruling?)
