A planet has just been discovered around 40 Eridani A, the star associated with the Vulcan homeworld in Star Trek lore.

Fascinating.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Replacement Saavik was not as hot as original Saavik.

Original Saavik didn't age very gracefully . . .

Back when Star Trek III came out, I would have agreed.   But after awhile my thoughts changed.  Robin Curtis was actually a better Vulcan.

I never understood why Kirstie Ally wasn't given Vulcan eyebrows for THE WRATH OF KHAN movie .... but that's not why I decided Curtis was the superior Saavik.

I guess she's had her ups and down WRT weight.

I had brief spasms of being in love with her in Cheers, but I also had brief spasms of being in love with Shelley Long.  I was in constant conflict.

Poor me.

I will still watch a Shelley Long movie, no matter how stupid and infantile it may be.

Beverly Hills Troop was cute.

.... and I've now reached the extent of the Shelley Long movies I know.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought
