Brazil to Relax Gun Restrictions

This should be an interesting model to watch. I suppose part of it will be how Brazil treats people who defend themselves with a firearm.

Unfortunately I would not be surprised if they end up with more issues in the short term and reversing the decision. I could be wrong, but it would not surprise me if you suddenly introduce a lot of firearms into a situation where the general public have little experience with firearms that there will be initial problems. Over time I would expect the crime rate to drop, but will they have the patience to run the experiment for a number of years or reverse it within the first year and we won’t really know if it worked or not.
