Suggestions for converting MPEG-4 audio to .wma format
« on: February 09, 2019, 11:58:59 PM »

I'm looking for a free utility that converts MPEG-4 audio files to Windows Media Audio format.  There are a quite a few to choose from, based on my online searching, but I know nothing about any of them, which ones are really malware, etc.

Suggestions are appreciated.   Thanks.

I'm not sure if VLC (from VideoLAN) can do that one, but I suspect it can.  The user interface might be a little confusing tho', it sure was last time I used VLC to do conversions rather than just playback.

I can convert the file to .wav format with VLC.  If there is a way to produce .wma output, I haven't found it yet.

Thanks for the links to FFmpeg and Winff.  I'll check them out.

https://wiki.videolan.org/ASF/  Try producing a .asf outfile and rename it .wma?  (I may try later that and see what happens)

Anyone else "seeing" Convert MP-4 to.... [ar15]

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I was.  I'm more convert the other way around.  MP4 is an open format.  WMA isn't.

Their free stuff is GREAT!

I actually bought their Video editor.
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!
