If they want to arrest me, they'd better show up in an amphibious assault vehicle to get across my moats. :P

Might need some solid shot for an amphibious assault vehicle.

Just a reminder: from the article, a Parrot cannon has a danger of exploding during use. May want to set it up for remote firing from behind a berm.

Anyone make a SmartCannon app?
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Just make your reproduction out of steel instead of iron.  Then it won't go kaboom.

Do they make armor-piercing grape shot?

I'd imagine a canister shot of .50BMG API projectiles would come close if you got them fast enough. Short range with no stabilization though.

Maybe Tungsten or DU round shot?

If made out of modern steel, why would your cannon be restricted to black powder?

And if the powder and the projectile are loaded separately, I'm pretty sure you're not restricted to muzzle-loading.  I could be wrong tho', perhaps that just means each shot is not a DD.

I'd consider someone firing a cannon or any firearm (blanks or not) at me to be an immediate threat to life and limb... the proper libertarian response would be to fire a volley from the MG-42 back.

You wouldn't necessarily.  It's just safer from a pressure standpoint. Besides it's better if your defense is smokey and smells of brimstone.

Cannon must be muzzle-loading and smooth bore to stay out of the purview of the NFA.

Punkin' Chunkin'

After all, most medieval siege machines, if scaled to backyard use with smaller gourds, would be pretty quiet.

Still assault, though, I guess.

I have a "no spinners allowed" sign at the front of the driveway. We're still civilized in that part of Idaho.  =D
