I spent quite a bit of time today explaining to a man that he made $12k more this year, which is why his taxes went up and the $1200 refund he got last year is now a $800 tax bill.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Man, they just keep promoting the "Trump took your hard-earned money" thing. I guess the saddest part is that they have such an uninformed audience.

I roughed mine out last night, it looks like I will pay < 500 dollars. I usually run +/- 200 so that is mostly OK with me. A lot of extra deductions went away with the increase of the standard deduction. Just have to do a better job of keeping track of things this year so next year my be better.
