According to dimwit Shannon Watts, people are forced to become NRA members when they buy a gun. Oh... also for the discounts.

It's probably not that funny, because these are the retards that push totally made up bullshit out to the public, and a gullible electorate laps it up.

Well, useta be, don't know if it still is, that you had to be an NRA member to join the State R&P Association.

I wish AARP had that requirement.

I haven't ever used the NRA discounts. All the places with them that I've actually done business with give discounts as good or better for other associations I have.

The Illinois State Rifle Association does not require NRA membership to be a member. Even the Gun Club I ran didn't require it. (We had several members who were judges and other people for whom NRA membership could have proven to be problematic with their jobs, so we never required it.)

When I was an armed guard in San Francisco I used to tell people on the street ( if they asked ) that California law required all armed security
to be members of the NRA.
They always believed me and a lot went away angry swearing they will do something about it

Mine does not, but when I joined, they said NRA membership and Texas State Rifle Association membership was one way they sifted through the applications.

That wouldn't be too good here. The TSRA has something like 60,000 members. That is pathetically low considering how many gun owners there are here. It is still a lot when it comes to state level politics.

Being 100% NRA club does allow for benefits from the NRA in grant money and reduced insurance costs.

If you've already bought one gun and one NRA conscription, do you have to buy a second (or third or eight or whatever) NRA conscription if you buy another gun? Or do these conscription's have an expiration date, so subsequent gun purchases add to your conscription? Or do you have to buy a totally new conscription for each gun and so you have to give them to friends, or family members or the dog or something?

You do it for each gun, that way your annual membership gets extended out.

Of course, if your state has One Gun per Month laws, maybe you can do the life membership so you don't have to do it every time.
