Hell, they can't keep manned ships from running into each other, how do they plan to keep unmanned ships from banging into things?

Does someone have to boat over for maintenance and inspections on a regular basis?  I guess I can understand some utility of having unmanned assets with a fleet heading into battle, but for normal operations I would expect to see people on it quite regularly.

Based on the original article, I was thinking of something bigger.  I guess the overhead costs are huge.
