« on: July 06, 2019, 01:50:51 PM »
I joined.

Who knows if it will do any good, but seems sensible.

I am confused.  Is this a separate group?  How are they going to affect the NRA leadership?

All I am hearing now is members and corporations are pulling back donations and La Pierre seems to be acting like a 3rd world dictator and getting rid of anyone who might be a little disloyal.

I wonder what the Potterfields (Midway) are thinking and doing about this mess.  They seem to be huge donors.

There is going to be no meaningful reform as long as Wayne is there. Best to let your wallet speak and take it somewhere else.

That what I'm beginning to think. If Wayne were to live up to all that "sacrifice" stuff he tells me to do in the letters he sends me, he would step down for the good of the NRA, even if he feels he did nothing wrong.

That's my view. Wayne, the current president, and several or the members of the board ... but especially LaPierre and Madam President. It's not as though LaPierre needs the money. The fact that he has given no signals whatsoever that he cares one whit about the good of the organization tells me that he's on an ego trip and that he's perfectly willing to bring the organization down around him rather than do the honourable thing and just ride off into the sunset with his pension.

It is not an official NRA group.

Here is their facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/SaveThe2A/

I contacted a few board members, and actually got a response back from Carl Malone.

I misremembered, it was Carl Rowan Jr:

I am in receipt of your email.

Thank you for reaching out and thank you for your support of the 2nd Amendment.

Wow.

That reads like the kind on non-responses I get from my congresscritter and senators when I contact them. That's about as non-committal as it's possible to be.

Ok folks, if you haven't already joined the group please do so!

http://www.savethe2a.org/

The first petition (to require members to attend meetings) is due Aug 1st via snail mail!

Print out the form, fill it out and send it in!

Only voting members of the NRA can sign (life members or 5+ year members).

You can have any voting members sign the petition, so take it to your gun club etc please.

Will it work?  Who knows... but it is better than just bitching and quitting the NRA.
