If they impeach and remove him before the election, it opens the door for him to run again as an embattled underdog.

Don't get your hopes up.  The feds are investigating so they can understand what needs to be swept under the rug to protect guilty Democrats.

That is exactly what the Comey/Obama FBI was doing there. They set up a task force with Ukraine to cover up corruption in the guise of an anti-corruption police agency.
The FBI has zero credibility as far as I’m concerned, and should be disbanded along with 100 other alphabet agencies.
