They have four counties in Nevada that have done that. Nye and Elko counties are the large ones and Lyon and Douglas are smaller ones. Even though there is quite a bit of land mass involved there isn't a lot of population. I belong to a Nevada Shooters website and am still trying to get a feel for how they are going to do the mandatory background check law come January. In Nye county there seems to be a lot of I will not comply talk and the Sheriff supposedly won't prosecute. We will see.
