My wife's Christmas gift for this year was taking her to see Wicked at the local Fox Theater, last night. Having seen the play, I have to admit that a politically preachy romantic comedy can be remarkably successful. It is, apparently, one of only three musicals to earn more than $1 billion.
Of course, the green witch didn't fall in love with a ghost, so that is a pretty big difference...
