Chrome update killed my YouTube
« on: February 10, 2020, 06:56:41 PM »
Ever since Chrome updated, I can no longer play a YouTube video.  I click on the 'play' arrow and nothing happens. I can play them just fine in Firefox.  My Googling on this did not shed much light. It must be some sort of setting.  I have rebooted, cleared the cache, reinstalled Chrome, etc., all to no avail.  Has anyone else encountered this?

Try temporarily disabling your antivirus, especially if you run Symantec. Late last fall there was an issue where Symantec and Chrome butted heads so bad that Chrome couldn't connect at all. I've heard of similar issues with other browsers/antivirus programs that took a patch to fix.

Check and see if reinstalling Flash Drive will fix it.

Chrome is a Google product and guess who owns Youtube, Google that's who.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
