Goodbye Suzuki DL-650
« on: August 22, 2020, 10:13:25 PM »
Good bye my WeeStrom! We had a good run for six years.  Since my orthopedic condition is not going to have me riding until I get that left hip replacement, I decided to sell my motorcycle.  I listed it for $ 4K on the local Marketplace and had a great deal of interest.  It turns out that my son was looking to upgrade from his small Honda, so I just gave him the Suzuki, on the condition that he actually use it and not turn around and sell it.  He has always liked my bike and I like that it is going to a good home.  We will see next year after surgery if I can ride again, and if I want to get back into the motorcycling game.  Maybe my electric cargo bike will sufficiently scratch the two wheel itch.

What cargo bike do you have? Just got a Mongoose Envoy I'm pretty happy with it but I'm thinking it would be even better if it were electric.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

I bought a Tern HSD 8Si due to the low step-over height, the quality of the components and motor, and the cargo carrying capacity.  So far I am absolutely loving it. It was expensive, $ 4150 out the door, but buy once, cry once, and this way I can continue riding with my hip problems.

Dang, sorry to hear that. They really are fantastic bikes. Hopefully you get back into a spot where you can enjoy riding again.

I'm stoked because I just bought a dynamo hub and lights from Joe's bike in Portland. $300 worth, but I hope to not think about lights again.

I am stopping by Everett Powersports this week to do two things:

1.  Since the Trail is essentially the same frame as the Super Cub, try getting on and off a Cub to ensure my bad hip can tolerate it
2.  If it works orthopedically, I will put down a deposit on the waiting list. They are supposed to arrive in the US in November.

Deposit made and I am number 11 on the waiting list.  The sales rep thinks it will probably be after the first of the year before they get bike number 11. It all depends on the allocation and how many they receive with each shipment.  I am mentally planning on Q1 2021.

Cool! Keep us posted. I'm really excited about these new Trail 125s, they are a dead ringer for the CT90 I've got in the garage.
