Judge accused of drinking, having sex in court removed from bench

Do any of you know if this is an appointed position?  Makes you wonder how someone like that could get into that position in the first place.  I figure there were those that knew about her behavior or saw signs of it and ignored it.

Judges in Kentucky are elected.  And cases like this are part of the reason that so many people want judges to be appointed, not elected.
