Well, she is 87.  She should be retired by now.

Just like with Pelois I'm afraid they replace her with someone actually competent

Do they have anyone competent in California?

Sen. Dick Blumenthal calls for protests in the streets to delay Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation
https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2020/10/15/sen-dick-blumenthal-calls-for-protests-in-the-streets-to-delay-amy-coney-barretts-confirmation/

Given where left-wing protests lead today, shouldn't the Senator be indicted for incitement?

"Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., later called originalism a "smokescreen" for "activist" judges,"

OK, my *expletive deleted*ing head just popped at that commnent...

The left has, for 50 years, used the court's activism to get things that they couldn't get legislatively. I'm not taking a stance on whether that is inherently good or bad, but the hypocrisy of such a statement is just stunning.

Dick Blumenthal spent years as the Attorney General of Connecticut, just waiting for a senator to retire so he could run for the senate. He never missed an opportunity to insert himself into a photo op.

Then there was the flap about his military service -- at one time, he claimed he was a "Vietnam veteran." Turns out that was a wee bit shy of being true.

Even Snopes had to acknowledge it: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/richard-blumenthal-vietnam/

It's like me being a Pearl Harbor Survivor.  Even though I was in Brooklyn at the time.

But what's a mere 5000 miles for the sake of a good story?

I also survived the Mt. St. Helen's eruption.

Looks like their last ditch, arm out of the water before going down for the last time effort, is to focus on Barrett's adoptions.

She must be the most squeaky clean ever appointee if the worst they can do is attack her for rescuing a couple of kids from poverty.

All examples of someone other than an all knowing, all caring, all controlling government saving someone from a life of poverty must be vilified and stamped out particularly if the person(s) doing so are white and the saved person(s) are POC. White people saving POC from a life of poverty is a form of white supremacy don't you know?

Wasn't that law declared to be unconstitutional? I'm pretty sure some court, somewhere (I don't recall whether or not it reached the SCOTUS level) decided that the 1st Amendment guarantees a right to lie about your [lack of] military service.

[Edit}It did make it to the SCOTUS, and it was found to be unconstitutional.

IIRC they filth can't be prosecuted for act of stolen valor but can be if they use the false claim to perpetrate fraud.

Correct. But they won't be prosecuted under the Stolen Valor Act, they would be prosecuted under other laws that apply to obtaining goods under fraudulent conditions.

So I could parade around McDonald's all day long claiming that I won three Medals of Honor in Vietnam and I can't be prosecuted, but if I try to parlay that fraudulent claim into a free hamburger off the Dollar Menu -- ZAP!

If Trump loses, her confirmation would be him going out on a high note.

No, you should not, if your expectation is that abortion will be outlawed throughout the USA.

If Trump loses, her confirmation would be him going out on a high note.

The dems will declare that since her and all of Trumps appointments weren't the will of the people the SCOTUS can be ignored
