That would be a sporty approach.

Someone was really celebrating their arrival.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

So were the wheels on the ground when it hit the balloon?

Yes, they were on the roll out.

This article states, "But even in the air, at night over a brightly-lit city, seeing it would have been by no means certain. It is interesting to note that in the photos and video, the flaps are up."

I'm not clear on the significance of that statement.  Help?

(The article corrects the impression that it was in midair and states the aircraft had already touched down.)

Because the flaps would presumably have been down for landing.  I believe the author is expressing interest that they went ahead and retracted the flaps after hitting something.

That or they did the normal after-landing flows and checklist out of habit or because they were unaware of hitting the balloon.

^ Makes sense now as to why the reporter remarked on it:  The plane stopped normally, so they checklisted, no rush.  Like, the plane wasn't on fire or anything.

Muchas Danke from this groundlubber.
