eBay Offer Confirmation #EBAYr4106094o21n  May 31   Processing & Trackin...  
  Well I got this and decided to open it.  (yep always dumb but thought maybe someone stole my info from e-bay and was using it..)   Well it is some stupid   thing about getting a free $500 card.  I can't cut/paste the dang thing as the ENTIRE message is a link.  (not sure to what as I killed it the second I realized what they set up.)
  So reading/changing window.  Based out of Sherman Oaks CA. Machelle Boyd.  Anyone know WTF is up with them?  My gut tells me scam/rip off attempt/

Sounds like a scam (especially if you haven't bought/sold anything recently).  I just forward them to Ebay & let them deal with it.

send it to spoof@ebay.com.  They'll respond within the hour letting you know if it's legit.

What is the from address?  My guess is that it is not an @ebay.com ending.

Send it to that email address above.  Or just delete it.

For future reference: When in doubt, read the headers.  In Outlook, this can be accomplished by right clicking on the message header in the inbox, and selecting "options."  The headers will contain the originating IP address.  A quick nslookup -a from the command line will reveal the domain name of the sender.  If it's not who it claims to be, it's a scam.

I just got through a deluge of semi-legitimate spam the last few weeks.  ALL of them seemed to be from companies based in California.  Sherman Oaks is one of the ones that came up a lot.  I unsubscribed to everything and I haven't gotten anymore recently.  It may be worth doing.  Otherwise, just delete it.

Some chick named "Julie" keeps emailing me and saying that she wants me to look at her nekkid on her webcam - for FREE!  All I gotta do is give her my credit card number to prove I'm over 18, then I can see her sweater bunnies and furby!
