Mike, I want to be the first to thank you for the clear, and well articulated answer.

Should we?

Or do we add another classification?

Or do we leave it and see if the waves settle?

I didn't google zamfir, I Youtubed him.  Sounds nice.  I'd like to see him do the Morricone spaghetti Western themes.   smiley

It might not be 10% of APS members causing the problems... It may be 2-3%, with multiple identities, who at the end of their shift turn in their numbers to their supervisor, who congratulates them on a job well done, and then either says "Go Hillary" or "Go Jihad."

Say...  what is the lat, long and altitude of said tape?   For some reason, USSTRATCOM wants it.  They're going on about "DJNO" and "preemptive first strike" something or other.   angel

Henery Hawk: Hey, he called you a chicken.
Foghorn Leghorn: That's what I've been - I say, that's what I've been telling you, boy! I am a chicken!
[Henery hits Foghorn on the head with a shovel and drags him away]
Henery Hawk: He talked me into it.
Foghorn Leghorn: I'm just a loud-mouthed schnook.
Henery Hawk: Chicken or schnook, in our oven he'll look good.

I'm not going to say "I told ya so" yet, but historically, open discussion of religion and politics has been a cause of contention, not peace and brotherhood.

You had peace and brotherhood in the womb; you'll get it again when you're dead.  The game here is evolution through sturm und drang.

Can you tell me where I, or any of the other mods/admins, have said that there won't be contention?

You can't.

What we have said is that contention can be done politely, civilly, and without every discussion devolving into a riot in the monkey house.

Is that conceptually so hard to fathom?

If you're just going to sit around, waiting like a vulture to screech "TOLD YOU SO," I'd suggest finding another board.

now that was downright uncalled for, and petty.  But you have presented a pretty good solution for me, at any rate.  Adios dude.

Petty?

No.

What's petty is kicking back and with obvious glee waiting for and categorizing any possible crack as an opportunity to tell everyone how magnificently prescient you are.

As I said, it's pretty obvious that the entire concept has escaped some people who should be more than able to figure it out.

Remember - this town is only big enough for ONE scapegoat.

Mike, if you were running an election, wouldn't you try to do something around viral media? I'd have a coupla boiler rooms, fulla kids who are being paid VERY well to keep their traps shut (and promised political jobs in the future), whose express purpose would be to further the election strategy. Take 100 of these true believers, and give each of them 100 chat rooms/forums to monitor. At a post a minute (and some can be literally copy/paste), they can sling some serious media out there...

Heck - I wonder how much of the "vote for anyone but a republican" stuff is coming from out of the country...
