Well, according to some of the right-wing pundits, the leftists are trying to convince us that Romney should be the Repub nominee because it's who they feel best running against in November. [popcorn]

Didn't the media pretty much pick the last couple of GOP losers? McCain, Dole...

They pick the favorite. Romney's been a solid favorite for months now.

As a rule the media support the candidate with the most money. Usually the one with the most money is also supported by the GOP leadership.

Usually when you have the media and the top of the party agreeing, they're hard to beat.

This election is different because so much money is going into the campaigns.

It'd be fun to watch except for what it does to our democracy.

Romney was mentioned by the media as being the frontrunner since last year, even before the GOP debate season really kicked off or any widespread polling was done. Prepackaged President...just add water.

Our problems aren't solvable by MBAs; in fact, many were created by MBAs.

fify

on that note, i wonder if he (or his superpack) has approached networks with the "if you favor me, i will spend x% of my advertising on your network" deal.

The media's candidate is...themselves.

They control the "debate" now, and they plan to continue doing so.  The candidates are just proxies for the underlying agenda: that being to preserve their lifestyle and the dissemination of ideas and values that will sustain that.

I guess that I have never given the MSM that much credit.

They rag on or support the person or issue that gives them the best ratings.

Elections are profit centers for Big Media.  Bread, circuses, debates, and endless propaganda.
