Protect and expand our civil rights

Mrs Gordon-Booth,

Right to arms and self defense is a civil and human right. Please oppose bills that restrict these rights as threatened by the shell bill HB1155 and similar.

Please support expansion of civil rights such as HB0997. It is time for Illinois to join the other 49 states with "shall issue" concealed carry.

I vote with the ISRA.

Thank you,

HB1155 is a concealed carry bill proposed by the anti-liberty types that is essentially a no carry bill. It is designed to get the Fed Appeals Court off their backs. HB0997 is the ISRA and Illinois Carry supported bills.

Dear [drewtam],

Thank you for taking the time to contact my office about current legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage.

I believe that as your state representative, it is my duty to represent the beliefs and values of my community. That is why I am taking the time to meet with community leaders and constituents to discuss this issue. I want to have a clear understanding of how the community feels about this controversial proposal. Your input has helped me as I am gathering all of this information.

Once again, thank you for contacting my office and sharing your opinion on same-sex marriage with me. I look forward to hearing from in the future. [sic]

Sincerely,
[printed signature]
Jehan Gordan-Booth
State Representative
92nd District

I think they figured this would get a bitter-clinger all riled up. Still trying to decide how to respond. I really don't care about ss-marriage, because current child support and divorce laws already make legal marriage a sick joke. Anyway, that is just a distraction from the issue; which is the point, I think.

Looks like they either copy and pasted the wrong line into the e-mail or simply sent you the wrong form e-mail.

If you didn't know where they stood before on those bills, you know now.  They didn't care enough about your opinion to even send you the correct formula email.

How's that rule go about attributing something to stupidity over actual malice.

She is definitely one of the least sharpest knives in the drawer.....  I've seen her in committee meetings before.

sounds like you need to make your opening sentence a little more focused.

Sounds like an incompetent intern clicked the wrong auto response button for your email.
