Exactly. If they really believed that "weapons of war don't belong on our streets," they'd confiscate the very guns they actually have Constitutional authority to confiscate, and give them back their revolvers and shotguns.

Diane Feinstein was asked about whether it may have been a good idea for Watertown residents to have guns, while the mad bomber was at large. She basically said yes, but not "assault weapons."

Because it makes perfect sense for private citizens, who do not have body armor, select-fire weapons, and a radio connection to armed, trained, and rapidly-available backup in the event of a criminal attack, to be restricted to artificially-low-capacity and low-power weapons for defensive purposes against such an attack, of course! :facepalm:
